Would a lamp like this be considered an Eames Style lamp? It appears to be from the 30's or 40's in my opinion. The lamp has no maker/ or manufacturers name on it.
I was
going to suggest that one could begin by searching for any lamps actually made by Charles (and Ray) Eames -- who as far as I know never designed a lamp that was manufactured.
Then I realized that, with all the misinformation found on the Web -- with the names of the Eameses (in particular) used with reckless abandon -- it would be next to useless to try to learn such a thing . . .
Your lamp strikes me as being a 50s piece rather than a deco one. In one photo there is writing / engraving near the on off switch on the neck that looks like it says "Newton", can you take a better shot of it and post it. On the value front it seems quite ordinary to me so of no significant value but a nice piece none the less.
Woof
You've broken the rules by taking your pathetic insults beyond the realm of the dedicated thread.
I shall now strangle you with my plentiful design yarns.
Ark has a large spool of the titanium-coated plastic variety that I will borrow from. It is a Karim Rashid - Marcel Wanders collaboration.
