Where are you in the US, may I ask? Do you know if there was ever a Scan store in your area? There was one near me in the Baltimore area and I know they sold Mølller chairs in addition to lots of sorta-generic Scandinavian furniture. I think they were a regional chain in the northeast or mid-atlantic area. The store here closed maybe 5 years ago.
I only went in the store a couple of times but black chairs seem like the kind of thing they would have had.

I am in Oregon, about 50 miles south of Portland. I got the first four chairs in Portland, and the other six/table today in Eugene. There is a store in Oregon and Washington called Scan Design, but I don't know that it is the Scan store you refer to, or if there may have been one in Portland at some point in the past. The consignment store people in Eugene say they know the original owners, and I have asked them if they would ask where and when it was purchased. Hopefully they will get back to me.

Thanks. Having seen only these black chairs with cloth upholstery, it would be interesting to see some done originally with cord. I still have not entirely decided if I will go with natural cord or black cord for the 10 black chairs I have. I wish the black cord would become available in the U.S.

U.S. websites that sell paper cord for Moller chairs tend to state that a 2 pound roll is enough for one chair. That was my experience doing Moller chairs. Sorry I do not know any of the European suppliers, but I would guess there should be something close to you in the Netherlands.
Also: 1/8 inch diameter paper cord tends to be stated as being 250 feet per pound. So, 500 feet to do a Moller chair.
