Sorry if this comes through as a duplicate post, since my first post attempts seems to have failed. I have one of these Jalk for Jeppesen lounge chairs that I am working on, and am hoping someone with experience with them can give me some assembly information. The backrest attaches to the legs of the chair with steel dowels, rather than the typical wooden dowels one normally sees. I am trying to decide if these steel dowels are to be glued in place in the legs of the chair, or simply friction fit, so that the chair can be disassembled later. For disassembly to work, the 4 backslats would also need to be put in without gluing them. Of course, the danger of not gluing is that the backrest might come loose if the chair were picked up from the backrest. I am not sure how much evidence there is that these steel pins ever were glued in the past however.
