I purchased this table ten years ago and was told it was an early Jean Prouve table, made for a cafeteria at an airport in south of France 1938. Found the same table on the website for a French auction house, confirming what I had been told and also mentioning that pretty much all of these tables had been destroyed during the war. There is also mention of a book "Jean Prouve en Lorraine" - however have not been able to locate this book for verification. I would be very very appreciative if any of you experts out there could help me either locate mentioned booklet or verify that this, indeed is an original table by Jean Prouve. Many thanks!!
I can't help you identify...
I can't help you identify the table; however, according to Worldcat, the following institutions possess that book (see link).
*edit, also, I see that Harvard has a copy. If you are in the US, I've found the Harvard library staff to be very helpful (Cornell, not so much).
