I've just bought one of the most amazing chairs I've ever sat in. Got it for a steal. Absolutely legendary. It swivels and tilts back in three positions, and I feel like a total slob, because to my shame I've fallen asleep in it overnight on a couple of occasions (inadvertently I might add - I just tilt it back and lose consciousness)! My flatmates say it should come with a health warning as when they tilt back to third position they feel as though they've been injected with morphine.
It might not have rosewood veneers on the back but I still think this chair outtrumps the Eames even though it isn't an 'icon' (as far as I know!). It totally outmanoevers the Eames and feels like a throne, plus it looks like it could be at home in any kind of interior too. Of course that's just my subjective opinion.
I've done a search of DA as well as of google but can't find much about this particular chair other than another couple of examples on blogs (from where these pics come from). I do know that it's made by the same company who does the Falcon chair by Sigurd Russell. Does anybody know how common my lounge chair is? Who designed it? How it ended up in the UK? I'd love to have another one for my lounge!!
If anybody could answer these (or if you prefer, tell me where to go/read to find out) I'd be much obliged. I'd also like to see any lounge chairs you own which aren't icons but are bloody comfy 🙂

Well I think it was, as my...
Well I think it was, as my chair has the same ottoman as the one in the picture. Plus the legs of the ottoman and the chair are the same, as is the leather.
But I know what you mean, it doesn't look like they match. Basically I think that's just the ubiquitous influence of the Eames lounge making us think that an ottoman has to look the same as the seat of the chair 🙂
Perhaps. I actually like...
Perhaps. I actually like mismatching ottomans fine. My mum does it. To a great result. For a minute I thought you have cut out your own chair/ottoman in photoshop! I thought that was weird ... but you found that on the ol' net I assume, which makes more sense...

Patrick, thanks so much for the info - right you are! Kayser it is.

Yes, cushions are filled with Down, although the cushions are seriously flat now, I think I need to get them plumped up with more Down. Although in the UK a 25kg bag of Down costs £550! One upholsterer suggested feathers as Down is 'too soft' but is a chair ever too soft? lol

Vatne sofa and chairs
Hi,
I have resently inherited the sofa you are looking for. It is a four seater in olive green/ brown colour. I also have two low-backed chair and footstool. Have to sell due to limited space. Only minor thing is that the jewels are located in Norway. Just to tempt you 😉
Lounge Chair with 007 Bond credentials
I have one of these in gorgeous light tan leather with the matching ottoman. As an avid Bond fan I was delighted to notice Tiger Tanaka sitting in one in You Only Live Twice when I watched it one lazy afternoon recently.
Having just moved to a cottage in Winchester UK I am slowly painfully considering selling mine...let me know if anyone is interested. Matt
