This general area has been discussed before, but there is now new information on the forum. Poul Jensen was a real person, who ran Christian Jensen's Møbelsnedkeri.
And I have a specific question: Selig's series of side tables, end tables, and coffee tables with the raised lip and caned under shelf, is variously identified as Ib Kofod Larsen or Poul Jensen (or various other that are thoroughly discredited).
Who really designed them?
Here is an example of the line I mean:

And I think the answer is Ib Kofod Larsen based on extrapolation from the below catalog shot. (Kofod Larsen designed the triangle, then he designed the square, and the various rectangles)
thoughts? knowledge?

And the answer is: neither.

And the answer is: neither.
The correct answer is Knud and Erik Christensen designed the line of tables with gallery edges per the Selig catalog in the possession of Poul Jensen's daughter.
Ironically, I see that this information was posted here by tchp a while ago.

Leif
I probably have one of the same catalogs that she has.
Incidentally, did Poul Jensen's daughter ever confirm to you that he designed the Z chair? Or perhaps does she know who Selig's primary manufacturer's were in Denmark?

Tchp: I didn't ask about the Z chair, so no. I am very curious about what all he did design. There are marked Chr. Jensen pieces on the Internet without attributed designers. And I get the sense the sellers didn't know what Chr. Jensen was or they wouldn't all have passed up the opportunity to attribute the pieces to a famous name on the off chance it brought in a buck.
But back to your question, the origin of the doubt about Poul Jensen designing the Z chair was that it is the only piece credited to him and that is a bit odd, right? And somebody wondered if maybe it was a typo, or communication error, or intentional fiction, or something else. And it helps that it is very believable that it could have been an Ib Kofod Larsen design. Right?
But all that falls apart now that Poul Jensen is a real person, well placed to have designed the Z chair.
(I also didn't ask about any other manufacturers).

Thanks. I might send her an email asking about some of those things, as I have been curious about them and this might be the only chance I ever have to ask someone who has some firsthand knowledge.

I just purchased the wedge table today at a local auction. I find it interesting that Wright Auction house credits Ib Kofod Larsen not Poul Jensen. Wright auctions doesn't throw around attributions the same way that the 1stdibs community does.
Handsome table, credit to the designer, whomever it is.

The designer of these tables is neither Poul Jensen nor Ib Kofod Larsen.
I have consulted a Selig catalog and the designers of this range of tables are Knud and Erik Christensen.
