I've just bought a Ladderax system with two light up display cabinets, and I'm looking for inspiration for small objects to put in them.

I've been thinking: drunken bricklayer, Wirkkalla ice bowl, small bronze and teak sculptures, etc.

What in your opinion are some of the nicest objects to have in a home?

PS could somebody ID the white ceramic object on these cado shelves

I had loads of smalls...
I had loads of smalls scattered around the house, some Kristian Vedel pieces, George Nelson desk clocks, Brian Willsher sculptures, John Makepeace candle holders, and quite a few Krenit bowls. Some Troika pieces are nice too. Lots to choose from!

Hey Nick!
I have the same turquoise bowl and eames chair coasters! Great minds think alike!
When it comes to smalls I have always been partial to bowls, vases, or other containers. Being actually able to use the things I display is something I find important. So not too much precious stuff in my home. NiceGuy's piece is -well- nice, but we've heard a lot about Baccarat lately and it's one of those things you'll hate yourself if you break it, being signed and limited edition and all of that.
Also, I don't think it's really all that necessary, or indeed desirable, to fill up shelving or to fill it with many special signature pieces. Better to showcase one or three lovely things even if they're not important expensive ones.
