Just purchased this possible early ETR Coffee table. I cannot find any Herman Miller tags. The only markings are a wood stamp pictured below which is partially cut off as I believe it's the original wood stamp from a much larger piece of wood. The table appears to be very old and very high quality. Any information would be appreciated, I contacted the Library of Congress in case they have any info on whether this is an authentic piece but I figured I'd reach out on here and see if anybody knew anything. Anyways, thanks in advance for your help : )

Got my fingers crossed...
Yea I figured Grand Rapids would make sense, however I don't think Herman Miller would of let one of their pieces sell with another companies wood label on it. I've got my fingers crossed that its some sort of pre-production piece before Herman Miller decided to mass produce. But what do I know : )
Very interesting.
Does the bottom surface appear to be raw wood ? Might there be a coating of some kind ?
I can imagine the panels being shipped with a sealer coating on both sides. When the plastic laminate was added to the top, the panel would still be balanced (sealed on both faces), to avoid warping. Best practice would be to laminate both faces . . .
Best of luck on this find !
