I picked this chair up at a flea-market the other day for $25. The chair was with a few other chairs that unfortunately had already sold and were just being held (Herman Miller Management chair :() Anyways I am curious to think if anyone could possibly ID the chair? I am thinking it may be Plycraft but the only marking is the 2 as pictured below. The base looks like it isn't the original but I could be way off. Also there is a cushion that is unattached as I need to reupholster it. The pad on the backing of the chair is not attached by screws unlike the bottom pad was.
The chair looks like it's seen it's fair share of time and is a little rough in some spots. My question to you as well is should I strip, sand, stain, and poly? If I do this how am I going to be able to reattach the padding on the back of the chair?

it worked
Pulled off the backing and noticed that someone for sure tried to stain this thing and didn't even seal it with a coat of poly. Well looks like I'm going to have to put a little elbow grease to restore this think but it sure will be a beaut once it's done.
Anyone have any idea who it could be by or just a random brand? Looks very much like an Arne Jacobson style chair I saw in a local shop except it didn't have swivel base.
