I have been toying with purchasing an authentic Eames for some time now but it is a good chunk of change and a decision that takes some mulling over. Naturally I have been researching the millions of copies out there and sanctioned reproductions like Pylcraft & Selig to see if there is anything comparable. In doing my research I noticed that the height figures I am seeing for the Plycraft versions seem much higher than the official height figures from Herman Miller (38"-40" vs 33"). Does anyone know with certainty that the Plycraft is indeed larger? I am 6'5 and the additional size would be awesome for me. Of course it won't be a true Eames and true to the original design but I would like to be able to enjoy the chair as much as possible.

Yes, Plycraft and Selig
chairs are bigger but most---maybe all?---of their ottomans are smaller. Not that that makes much difference as far as comfort.
I've heard that some people find the Plycraft/selig chairs more comfortable.

have a plycraft knockoff. I am fairly tall and it is quite comfortable.

Plycraft
I also have a Plycraft and it is taller than the eames and tilts. Its also much easier for me to get out of than the Eames lounge. I have tested this out several times by going to my local showroom and sitting in the eames and the eames is always much more difficult for me to get out of.
