I'm very interested in acquiring 4 new Plia chairs. Are they still being made? Four used chairs in mint condition would also be satisfactory. Can anyone help me out on this? Thanks very much!

Every
millimeter that those clip-on feet are moved further apart, will increase the stability of the chair a bit more. It's odd to see a photograph of the chair in which the feet are placed unnecessariy inboard. . .

No Response from Haworth!!!
Sent an email to Haworth on 3/22/09, asking about the availability of the Plias, but as I write no reply. Also sent an email to one of Haworth's distributors, and likewise, no reply. Hmmm?

Contacted Graham Mancha. He has 4 brand new Plias that can be shipped at once. The total cost is $845 for 4 Plias, including shipping to California.

I've sold over a dozen plia chairs just in the last year (all auth. marked Castelli) - I find them on a regular basis. I've found completely clear ones, ones with a slight yellow tinge, and ones with a slight purple tinge. I price mine $45 a piece - but they are all used, most in really good condition. Otherwise, lucite can be polished up as long as there are no cracks...
I don't have any currently - but if I were you I would check eBay or craigslist - and I would definitely go the 2nd hand route. Just be patient... They are very common... I see them everywhere! (at least in the US - I don't know where you are located...)

They're everywhere ...not!
I noticed that NickR60 and spinario said, "...they are everywhere" and "...I see them everywhere" respectively. Well, that's maybe why they call me Dummkopf, because I only saw ONE on ebay. And that ONE was rusty, scratchy and $237!

eBay changes every week. At one point I had 6 plias that weren't moving locally - so I looked at eBay (this was about 6 months ago) and they were selling at that time - sets of 4 for 200, a set of two for 80 or even less, they were all over the place and for me, it was not worth the effort to list them and have to package and ship them for such a small profit.
Granted - people are starting to think about outdoor / patio furniture at this time, so the prices might temporarily jump up. Spring and summer - more locals are looking for them - but they tend to sit here the whole winter... and go for very little on eBay!
One just sold on eBay for 60 dollars in the past week.

They have been in production for years so...NOT RARE.No you cant search ebay once or a few times and get what you want exactly instantly.I know collectors who have tracked objects for years like spiders...:)

No junk for me!
First of all, this thread never said anything alluding to the Plias being rare, except you!
Secondly, I'm not a collector - all I wanted were four Plias in excellent condition. I will not search for expensive rusty, scratched, and cracked used Plias on ebay.
I'll gladly pay $845 for four brand new Plias, including shipping from UK to California!

you first asked the easily researched question are they still in production that implies possible rarity/hard to find issues...
