Hi! I was recently given this chair as I think it will be beautiful recovered. I do not have it in my possession at this time, it is being delivered shortly. I am trying to find a likeness online, but am coming up short. Has anyone seen this chair before, have any search term help, or clues as to if this is a crappy knock off or a valuable piece? ( I apologize if it is offensively obvious that it is crap... I'm new to collecting )

missmegan...
I live in Canada and I see these chairs, along with their matching sofas frequently in thrift shops, usually with the same or very similar original upholstery. I have never noticed any identifiable markings but I suspect they are Canadian made, circa the 1970's and are more or less generic.
Not valuable in the sense you are asking... but you got it for free and you clearly like it. No question it will look much nicer with new fabric should you decide to keep it and invest in reupholstering.

I wonder how the
manufacturer arranged for the wood arm pads to be removed for reupholstering. They seem to be laid over the fabric. Perhaps they are pried off . . .

Thanks all. Yes, I had...
Thanks all. Yes, I had looked at the Adrian Pearsall chairs from his catalogue listings, but he never did legs quite like this. The lines of the chair itself are similar, but agree with my other Canadian here, that it's a chair that was in many living rooms in the 70's. I do think the wood must need to be pried off as well.... I guess I'll find out when I take her in! Megs
