Wow thank you for all of your thoughts, I apologise for the delay in replying..as you can see it is extremely difficult to rule certain elements out!
I have been told the wood is teak as well. Blackwood is known to be very heavy and these chairs are not heavy at all.
I wonder if the vinyl seat is a giveaway?
I would have thought that with such beautiful crafmanship, the deigner would use leather over vinyl? It was a new material back then though!
The circle sticker mark on the chairs is 35mm in diameter.
Does anyone know if the dansh control tag was ever a sticker? And I wonder if the danish control tag is 35mm also? Does anyone know?

You identify timber by its grain Monika, not by its weight. These are blackwood, not teak.
There's no need to disbelieve that these are by Danish Deluxe as DD did a very good job replicating this design.
Really the only significant diffrence is the leg join. On the originals the join between seat-back and the legs is smooth and sculptural. Danish Deluxe cut a bit of a corner here and opted for a cruder join. If you have a close look at your chairs you'll see.

price of signed Hans Wegner furniture
I am trying to find a fair price to charge a friend for my mid 20th Century Hans Wegner dining room furniture. It was purchased by me in Denmark in the early 60s and has been in my home ever since. I have found a price for the large hutch and two-leaved dining table, but can't find one for the round teak/oak and leather arm chairs(the Presidential Debate chair) and six matching side chairs.
Any price information you could give me would be appreciated.

chair id
Hi,
fairly sure these are made in Australia by Danish Deluxe.
I have restored a number of DD items and this looks like Tasmanian Blackwood, Acacia melanoxylon, which is not as heavy as you might think.
Very nice chairs and a bargain !

I had a set of four of these a few years ago- some of my absolute favorite mid-century chairs for both aesthetics and construction. As for the type of wood, I did visible repairs on the armrests using old
teak and the color/texture/patina matched very well. We recovered the seats, and I don't recall mine having brackets underneath .
