Hi,

I picked up this chair at a local thrift store. I have been unable to identify it. Does anyone recognize this chair?

It is unmarked. It has rubber straps on the seat that read Rotex Made in Denmark. Are the gold tweed cushions original?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a set of 4 in my basement that really closely resemble that one, I'll need to bring one up later to see if they are a perfect match.. But I know that mine are stamped Made in Italy on them, for what that's worth.

Thanks for the info. There are no markings on the chair frame itself, just the rubber straps on the chair seat indicate made in Denmark. Therefore, I realize that the chair may not actually be danish. Thanks again!

Chair w/Rotex straps
I have the same chair in my office, except with different cushions. I also have the love seat and the cushions on that are leather covered. The senior partner in my office is 82 and I'm sure these pieces were purchased in the early to mid 1960s. There are no markings on either piece, but the love seat does have a tag from the Paoli Chair Co. Their web address is www.paoli.com. They may be of some help in tracking down a history and if you have any success I would be interested in what is learned. It is one of the most comfortable chairs that I ever have used.

Rotex straps
are made in denmark and sadly no longer made as these were produced in lengths from 3250mm right up to 30000mm
Your chair is likely to be Italian with the original rotex straps in them. the cushions seem original and as for the fabric, dont worry about being original as long as you keep the colurs and type within what originally were available then you can change it for anything.
