That's rather a small mark-up...
... in the world of antiques

I wonder
how much Katherine Keener paid for her $5,500 table ?
As a fellow dealer I'd probably have expected a 20% discount too 😉

The preying on your dying nei...
The preying on your dying neighbor's apartment theme seems to be a staple of our times. I think I've seen this scene in countless tv shows: Seinfeld, for one, where the plots of at least 81% of all new movies are mined.
I think I even remember this theme in one of the episodes of the new Ray Romano series, can't remember the name of the series right off-hand, but it is actually very good, oddly enhanced by the fact that it is not exactly Everybody Loves Raymond. In the series, rich guys (car dealers/party store owners/actors) grapple with ethical issues usually involving either love and/or money.
Oh yeah, Men of a Certain Age, I think it's called.
The markup scene with Catherine Keener sounds almost overly tame, like the workup group got wind of it and said don't make the unknown dealer's price $15,000, or nobody (and especially not your average movie watcher) but a dealer will believe it.
Also, I think I read awhile back that one of the extra-track Dylan Freewheelin' albums went for around $35,000.

ps, the opening mammogram...
ps, the opening mammogram scene in Please Give has already been critiqued as gratuitous and brilliant. Could it be both?
In addition, congratulations to Armando Galarraga on his perfectly imperfect game, one of only seven or eight I suspect in the whole history of baseball, something to be very proud of, particularly so in Detroit, home of the great Mark 'The Bird' Fidrych.
We all make mistakes, I've heard.
