Hi all - I'm in the process of replacing the Pirelli webbing on my couch (Nelson loose cushion group), and I've realized that I don't know exactly how tight to pull this stuff. I've got the stretcher, which I'm using, but...you know I can crank this thing to varying levels of "give". Google hasn't provided much assistance here, and I'd hate to finish this thing only to realize that I've done the job poorly, since this isn't the sort of job that you can make adjustments on after the fact...so, does anyone have any upholstering experience with Pirelli? If so, please let me know!

Pirelli webbing is a rubber-coated fabric strap and you typically wouldn't use a stretcher for it (stretchers are usually used for fabric webbing like jute). When I've installed Pirelli webbing in the past, I've found it to have a noticeable give, up until a point. I'd guess it stretches about 20% or so. After that, it's obviously taught and will hold weight without too much give.

I don't think Pirelli webbing has as much
give as Fagas straps, though. I use a lot of that heavy duty woven elastic webbing (black with a red stripe) and it has more give than Pirelli but I can still only stretch that about 2" over an 18-19" span.
I can't remember how much stretch I got out of Pirelli but I know it was harder to stretch than the black stuff. And the Fagas straps I've seen seemed softer than the Pirelli.
