anybody else looking at this trying to figure out what the point of the rail is? It makes it look like something that belongs in a hospital. Or an old folks home. Shame

I like the lines of that...
I like the lines of that chair and its a very comfortable chair to sit in...also this may or may not help but Sir James Wilson Vincent Savile OBE (Jimmy Saville to you and I)has one.

What ?
apart from supporting the back, the seat and the armrest, joining them all one fluid component ?
The chair is also part of the 'Alpha' Range and designed to sit stylistically alongside the sofa and armchair.
On the non-swivel version the side frame becomes the legs.
