Agreed Woodywood
and I don't even think it is all to do with short legs, my old creaky bones make reaching down to the laces from a dining chair a pain. Benches are much easier to put shoes on from, although I wouldn't imagine that Riki wants her front entryway cluttered with shoes, that's usually saved for a mudroom, or entry from a garage, at least at our house, although in Japan. . .

Still absorbing
I'm just enjoying the eye candy! Seriously, I've been surfing some of the names of designers that you have mentioned here that are new to me and that is leading to other links and other links, well, you know how it goes. WHC, you knew I would like that orange chair, didn't you? (Go, Tigers). Gustaf, who designed the tall rosewood one in your first picture?

I've got an Arne Wahl Iversen planter there now. My furniture hunting has come to a complete standstill because we're moving to Lausanne and we've put the house on the market. I'm so bummed because I didn't even get to finish furnishing half of that great house.

house. The 1855 Greek Revival is the one with the wine room that I posted pix of on the 10-year reunion thread. The 1957 contemporary house was posted in the ads section for sale but I think that's gone now with the advent of the "radar", right?
When I am up there again next week, I'll snap a photo.
Here's a link
with some pictures of my house that's for sale. Koen, don't you need a nice vacation home in the sunny south?:)
