We rescued this bench recently from a yard sale. It's a 60" x 18" bench but I'm stumped on the legs. They are 24" long, wooden threads, and fit into the underside of the bench correctly.

I am aware that these were made with several smaller sized legs but haven't seen the 24".

Interested in some opinions and hoping Straylight might chime in to solve my mystery. Maybe it's not a mystery at all? I just haven't run across 24" legs on this before.

Thanks in advance!

Legs
The legs probably belonged to another McCobb piece and were mixed up.

I'm curious as well. My new neighbors have an identical one on their porch, (college students). I haven't seen it up close, but is obviously too small for a dining table yet too tall for a bench. I assumed it was a mismatched top.

Country Workshop
9", 15", 19" and 29" are all standard interchangeable Planner Group leg sizes (measurements are for resulting tabletop height).
I just flipped through my Planner Group catalogs once again to check if there was ever mention of a 24" leg and there just plain and simple isn't one.
Country Workshop did make a 24" leg... and an exact measurement knockoff table/bench
Odds are what you have is a period knockoff.

Thanks for the help
Thank you everybody for the input. Straylight, I'm still a bit baffled because the characteristics that this has are consistent with how you describe the differnces in the benches in the Country Workshop post - 18" deep and wooden threads.
It's not a big deal to me either way - it's a fun piece to rescue and fix up, but it's always fun to investigate.
I really appreciate the info (and the work you've compiled)

Country Workshop info...
...in the post on my blog is not all encompassing.
Very early on Country Workshop did exact (and i do mean exact) and interchangeable copies, then later they switched their production techniques. The early copies are so close that even I with a studied and practiced eye am fooled from time to time, they might as well be Planner Group pieces from the standpoint of 50+ years down the line...

P. S.
I'm glad that at least one person has read my piece on Country Workshop 🙂
