Can anyone offer any light on a little quandary I have. What I need to find out is if Panton designed this table for Cado ? I ask as I have had conflicting info from people saying it was a Poul Cadovious designed & produced by French & Sons, Some have it attributed to Steen Ostergard produced by Cado & some to Panton! On Lauritz there's the same table up for auction as Panton for cado, but I'm not sure if Panton did design it or even work for Cado, can anyone offer any proof he did either?
Thanks
First off, you mean to say Fr...
First off, you mean to say France and Søn, which was sold to Cadovious who renamed the company Cado in the mid 60s. Cado then continued to use F&F branding on some products and Cado branding on others.
If you look on danish-modern.co.uk, you can find ads for Panton designs produced under the F&F mark in 1968. Which says the corporate accountants knew how to send him a payment, so maybe he did also design for the Cado mark.
If you look on Lauritz a bit more you can find one of these tables where they show the Cado mark. Note lauritz is not an authoritative source.
What I don't know is who designed the table. Maybe someone else here has an old catalog and can tell you.

Ah, I got distracted looking at Cado product on the danish furniture index, and there is this table. It is credited to Poul Cadovious. And generally the Danish Furniture Index is a reliable source, especially when they don't credit an auction house for their information, as in this case they do not.

Leif Ericson many thanks for your in depth & knowledgeable reply, So the Table is attributed to Poul Cadouvious & not Verner Panton, to further this I emailed Niklas, who is an avid collector/fanatic of all things Panton, owner of http://www.pantonworld.com/ he is sure it's not Panton designed. Many thanks again.
The furniture index is author...
The furniture index is sufficiently authoritative that I would NOT say it is "attributed to" Poul Cadovious, which indicates an educated guess. I would say it was designed by Poul Cadovious, which indicates that authoritative proof of the assertion exists.
Aside from a few known and suspected errors (most of them are obvious because the source of the design credit is an auction house like Lauritz), the Danish Furniture Index is an authoritative source for a design credit.

Noticed that this advert Has http://www.danish-modern.co.uk/cado-290/ steen ostergaard chairs so perhaps that's who it's attributed to ?.
