Two quick questions.
I have an Oxford highjack with arms rest that I bough in 1984 in London and has been re-uphostered in San Diego where I live part of the year. It now needs to be re-uphostered - and for good reason. The chair has been in constant use in my library where I write.
My egg chair and stool too are now threadbare. Will likely need re-foaming and new upholstery. I have researched this site and others and therefore I am aware of Hume's work in Los Angeles, and DK's service in PA.
My questions are:
1. Does Fritz Hansen undertake restoration of their chairs? I am finding it hard to get a response from them. Is that the norm?
2. Does Fritz Hansen have an approved list of upholsterers in the United States?
3. I note that the restored eggs I have seen seem to appear a bit "puffy", which is not what I recall eggs to be.
4. Do members here have suggestions for me to probe deeper into as far as upholsterers are concerned in the State of California?
5. Are there restorers that specialize in FH's A. Jacobsen furniture?
