Hi all, I have an older Eames Lounge Chair (pre-71)with the glossy leather. I know the newer productions have different selections of leather including standard, open line, Vicenza, Edelman, etc. My question is does anyone know what type of leather was used on the older chairs?
Leather
I have seen quite a few vintage chairs with Eagle Ottowa marked inside the leather. I don't know if they were the only supplier or when they switched. Eagle Ottawa still supplies leather to the auto industry.

Thanks, Jimbo, for the insight. Is there a way to tell what kind of leather was used by looking at the cushions, by turning them inside outside or is there a stamp or tag somewhere?
