Hi, Im From Argentina, i Have 12 warren platner wire arm chairs and I dont know how to recognize if they are orginal or copy. They are old but they dont have a Knoll International label under the cushion. Maybe the wire has an iscription or something....Thx
Sory for my terrible english!
Warren Platner chairs have never been reproduced...
Warren Platner chairs have never been reproduced, I believe, until now by Pink & Brown of Montreal. If they have been reproduced, they were of very poor quality. Post some detailed pictures for us and we'll be able to let you know.
Pink and Brown
Just looked up their website, and WOAH!
I'm hard pressed to choose which knock off is the worst. The papa bear, the PK20, the womb chair, the coconut, they are all horrible. But I'd have to give a special award to the Zanuso lady chair and the Wegner Ox chair, they are spectacularly bad!
Pick and Brown must be the Canadian White on White, on steroids. They even knock off the Time Life stools and Adrian Pearsal!
Sorry to derail your thread. If you have photos I'd be happy to offer my opinion, but if they are old, I think it's a pretty safe bet.
Platner side chair
Hi. I've been running around the web desparately looking for a simple description of how the seat pad and arm rest are attached to the wire frame of a Platner side chair. Based on your response on this forum thread, I'd guess you know a little about the subject, so I thought I'd ask. Or, maybe you know of someone who does know. Thanks. Since I'm not a usual subscriber to the DesignAddict forum and, thus, might miss your response, I'd prefer you reached me directly at Boris.L at mindspring.com. Thanks again.
horrible, at a guess I'd say ...
horrible, at a guess I'd say 50% of people involved in the furnishing industry just should't be, its solely a money thing for them much as they bleat about how they care too. I remember mentioning a few of the big names at previous places of employment and none of the owners or senior staff had a clue, its like claiming to be interested in the auto industry and knowing nothing about Daimler.
Ah the 21st Century where good enough is good.
