Looks correct to me. The metal cover plate and "DANMARK" spelling usually date to the 1950s.

Thanks for the reply.
I've done some more research on my own and it seems like you are correct. The chairs from the 50s had those metal plates with FH DANMARK on them. I had honestly never seen them before. I had only seen the plastic covers and got a bit suspicious. But the reason that I had not seen the metal covers before is probably because they are rather old and I?m a total rookie when it comes to these chairs. =)
The chair is in a very good condition, so I guess that the white paint has been redone since the 50s.

Once again thank you for the replies, I've uploaded some more pics.
I've also asked the same question to http://www.fritzhansen.com/ and I will get back to you. Just in case if anyone else has the same query.

FAIL.......
The cap, albeit a correct early cap, has been added to your chair to "age" it.
The chairs, mostly from the first period, 58 onwards were made in teak and it was not until years later that colours where introduced. When they were they were mostly black but as the chair found fame and love with us Danes more were produced in colours.
The cap you have looks odd because it has come from linked chairs which would have had a bar extruding either side to which the neighbourgh chair would be joined.
While the chair is still nice I think your seller has been "crafty" and I hope you did not pay over the odds simply because of the cap!

Ok, so both the chair and the cap seem to be originals. But the cap is not the original cap for this specific chair. I can live with that. My main concern was that the whole chair was fake, since I didn't recognize the cap.
The seller told me that she didn't know how old the chair was and that she and her husband had bought it on an auction about two years ago. I paid about 200 EUR (270 USD) which I thought was a fair price since the chair is in such a nice condition.
All in all I really like the chair and I think it looks great and I guess that's what counts in the end. But of course you never want to get ripped off. =)
