I just gave away a teal coloured west german pottery lamp from the 1960s/70s. Now I'm wondering whether that was such a wise move. What do our forumers think of this style of lamp?

I have a small collection of W German pottery. Could you post a pic of it or of a comparable lamp?

Brent,
post some pix of yours. I've got a small collection as well. I love the whole vibe of the chunkiness, the colors, etc. Not to mention the fact that they are all still very reasonably priced.
Here are some of mine labeled or marked by Bay Pottery, Scheurich and others.

Here are some more
West German vases in my home. (I have more from other countries if anyone is interested in seeing pix.)
Sad story. As y'all know I moved to Switzerland from South Carolina last year. I do not know a thing about cold weather. I planted a sweet little evergreen tree in a beautiful W. German planter/vase out on the balcony. Well, you already know the rest of this story. It froze, thawed, froze, thawed and cracked in a million pieces. Mr. Big was like, well, honey, that is called SCIENCE. I was like, Mr. Big, hush and go pour me a wine.
