I was told that the brackets used in the cabinet slots to mount to the poles were bakelite but they appear to be a heavier type of metal ( cast iron ? )

Does anyone have a source for buying extras?

Bakelite is a resin.
It seems unlikely (to me) that the brackets would be made of this material.

I think you're right. Do you know where components such as the brackets can be purchased ?

Please let me know if anyone has a source for Omni parts
I recently purchased an Omni system circa 1975 and am looking for some additional pole splice hardware as well as tie in brackets. The poles are 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" and have an angular shape to the channels. I've also seen that there were lights that could be added to the poles which would be great to find if anyone had a source. Thanks.

Omni Cabinet brackets
Here's a link that may or may not help.
I'm trying to find the wall tie brackets that hold the poles to the wall in case of earthquake.
