So I'm waiting at the doctor's office and had nothing else besides me but an Elle Magazine. I picked it up and flip through it to find the Case Study House #22, aka Stahl House by Pierre Koenig. Photographed by Dusan Reljin.

I really wasn't aware of who was Olivia Wilde. She's an actress but who cares? I just saw the Stahl house and thought I'd share with you guys. I believe it was a February 2010 USA Issue. So quite late on this but I don't read that magazine very often.

On a side note, perhaps someone could clarify this. I've seen numerous pictures from the Stahl house taken by random people through the tours and what not. But every time the furniture changes, sometimes I've seen thing's that I think don't belong in that house e.g. IKEA. But why can't they keep it nicely decorated?

I know the money from the tours goes into the maintenance of the house. There's also gatherings and it's also been featured in films etc. I also know that DWR recently shot photos there for their catalog and donated some furniture as well.

Anyways, I'm not complaining. The family can decide to do what ever they want with the house. I've heard they are really nice people. I'm just curious. I'd love to see that house with furniture of the period at all times.

Enjoy these photos if you haven't seen them.

The Stahl House
First, let me just agree that I think we are nice people.
Second, regarding the furniture. Many photo shoot occur at the home and many of them bring their own prop furniture. But for these photos that you have posted, this furniture is provided by Design Within Reach (DWR). The Stahl Family and DWR have partnered to stage the house. The pieces in these picture are "period". The Red Eero Saarinen Womb chair was designed in 1948. The Sculptor Isamu Noguchi designed the coffee table in 1948 also.
Hopefully this clears up some of the worry about furniture.

That
would be great. We don't get to interface with "the real deal" too often. . .!
Thanks for stopping by. The house continues to inspire.

I also often forget about the slider, but I never do when there is that much incentive given to "remember" that it is there.

Well Hello!
Hi Mark. What a surprise. I didn't expect a response from someone so close to the house. That's great to hear and I'm glad DWR will take care of this. I had no doubt that these pieces were "period". I just had seen others around in pictures floating on the internet.
Thanks for dropping us a line.
