I'm still on the look out for my dad's old kitchen - it had black formica worktops, an amazing geometrical/op-art front. I think it might have been made by "Wrighton" but I'm not sure. If you ever find a kitchen like this and wish to sell it please email lit_up@rocketmail.com - I am very keen to buy.
Why can you only buy "English rose kitchens" in the UK, if you want to go vintage? What else is there? sorry but i think all that aluminum is fugly and if i hear "english rose" again I'll go beserk.
Anyway, where are these other kitchens? Is it just a question of keeping an eye out on eBay and gumtree for when someone's granny dies? All the stuff I've seen on eBay has thus far been pure tat - exclusively white, "shabby chic" free-standing cupboards that look far too feminine. Nothing strong, robust and fitted.
wrighton kitchen
would you be interested in a complete wrighton kitchen. I bought a complete kitchen with appliances and cupboards - loads of them, and I have changed my mind as my husband said it is too much work and they now sit in our garage.
They are in a reasonable ok condition for their age and the they come with all the original paperwork and instructions. I love them but we are pensioners and so my son said sell them on.

Kandya
I have seen old Kandya kitchens come up for auction. That would be my choice.
