Can anybody please help me ID maker/designer of this chair. We have two chairs and the matching sofa, all in nearly flawless original condition. Purchased from original owner who bought it while stationed in Norway and as far as he knew, it was Norwegian. Base is a thin wood veneer over steel. My first thought was Westnofa but I haven't been able to find anything similar by them. Thanks!

I would be surprised if that were Norwegian. I'm thinking it's a Finnish piece. If I knew who made it, you'd have to give it to me.

It's a very nice chair
a bit conservative, but solid looking and I bet it's very confortable.

Would you mind posting a photo of the sofa? From the photo of your chair, I think I might have the matching sofa. I will need to check my storage to confirm.

sofa
I don't have any photos of the sofa yet (house is a mess) but it's the exact same shape, has 4 seat cushions and rests on similar bases that are 3 legged instead of 4, similar to a bird foot. Amazing drawing: -
I thought there was a good chance that it was not Norwegian but I still haven't had any luck in any books or online.

Hmm..to me it looks pretty generic Scandinavian mid-60's swiveling armchair, nothing particlarly 'Finnish' here (although the Jacobsen-style base was very commonly used around here at the time)..could be from Norway or Sweden as well..
