Pr'bly not
There's a couple of kidney shaped coffee tables, but I'm not too keen on them.
I have a very staid Florence Knoll woodtop coffee table and a George Nelson coffee table in white (similar to the "End" table, but lower).
I'm not too crazy about those knee-bustin' coffee tables, anyhow, but I do have two.
I agree that the Nogushi coffee table is such an icon that it's almost pretenious. Still, it's way cool.

try some of Kagans stuff he did the
biomorphic look,
One thing that might clear a few things up ,
I know you can get a nice knock off from on line at furniture fancy and others, for around 400 bucks, but if you really want a really nice one go for the Herman miller , it cost more, but to me I think it is worth it, cause it is signed in the glass Isamu Noguchi ,
I have said many times about lots of good knockoffs and they make a lot of good ones in this table but I will say the stand out is the Herman miller signed one. cause they use the finest walnut .
I did get for my neighbor one from Furniture fancy in black for around 300 and it was nice and she was happy but if you like the table and want to step up, to be a little different go for the Miller, you will be glad you did.
Thanks for the replies,...
Thanks for the replies, guys. My serach for biomorphic coffee tables on ebay over the last few months have brought up a few Kagan tables -- they're much less graceful than Noguchi's though, aren't they? (There's a reason it's such a popular piece, I suppose). Thanks for the tips LRF - if I were to buy a Noguchi coffee table (and I may end up doing that yet, as I think barrympls is right -- I'm probably not going to find anything on level with Noguchi's table, and yes it is way cool:) but if I were to buy a Noguchi coffee table I'd definitely only buy the Herman Miller version. It's not so ridiculously expensive as to make it unattainable, fortunately.
Azurechicken, your comment intrigued me. Could you please elaborate on what you were saying there? Is the genre "coffee tables" or is the genre "biomorphic coffee tables"? and if the genre is simply "coffee tables" (as I suspect it is), what sort of thing do you have in mind as a substitute? I'm interested...
noguchi table
amazing you can buy the table full retail for 1245 at DWR or a repoduction for 279 plus shipping I like the wood on Herman miller on this one , and yes it does cost a lot more but if you want a lifelong classic get this one, I will not say the others are cheap crap cause i purchased one for a neighbor gal and it really turned out nice, the glass was the thick glass and the black ebony was also nice, It is up to you, if you are into wanting the real thing for a investment or just want a nice table to look nice in your home.
Other Noguchi coffee table
Noguchi also made another coffee table that has a wood top with the same shape. Someone was making these and I wish I could find one to buy(not vintage).

Oh wow. Thanks for the photo LRF. I think that's the table I need! And based on how much 1stdibs generally inflates prices, I'll probably even be able to afford (when I eventually find it elsewhere). I'll definitely have to check Kagan out further. To be honest, I'd kind of written him off after the tables of his that I'd stumbled across on ebay. But this table makes me think that those others were mis-attributed. Thanks again to everyone who chimed in here!
