Ok...this isn't a coup against the Nelson Clock threads, which are great! With all the Nelson chatter, and the Arne Jacobsen clock popping up courtesy of LRF, thought other designer clocks could use some adulation. Let's see what else is out there!
Here's a humble clock of mine by Seth Thomas
WoofWoof
you are right ...
WoofWoof
you are right on the money on that one!!!! it is a welby with nelson hands.
I have so many clocks
and spare parts, I thought i would do a little design work of my own when I bought the welby with out a set hands but I have some new hands I ordered so i will change again,
I think Welbys are great clocks number 5 is a welby also any one out there no the history or welby where were they made?
i have four new sets ...
i have four new sets of clock hands coming from Vitra so i might
use a set from one of those, as i want to use two sets for t he two meridan clocks I bought in the last 2 weeks both came with out hands, (you sorta wonder what happens to the old hands) but that clock with the nelson hands on it was the first clock i ever bought at a flee market and I still love it cause it was so different and was typical of the early part of the midcentury with the starburst and the atomic balls theme that we all loved.
The first clock is by westclock and it is all teak wood
2)Is a German clock that had a key that i could not get to work or either could the clock shop so we just put a quartz in it.
3)welby great design on that one
4)mastercrafters light brass
