Ok...this isn't a coup against the Nelson Clock threads, which are great! With all the Nelson chatter, and the Arne Jacobsen clock popping up courtesy of LRF, thought other designer clocks could use some adulation. Let's see what else is out there!

Here's a humble clock of mine by Seth Thomas

I really like
the clock on the bottom. I believe that it might be the same clock my grandparents used to own...or close to it. I think my uncle might have claimed it. I like the other clocks too, but that's my fave out of the ones you posted.

Impressive LRF...that was unexpected...you have quite a Nelson/non Nelson collection!
Third pic down, hard to see, but looks like a Welby with Nelson hands?

You could leave it
Elgin, Welby, Westclox, Seth Thomas appears to be the most prolific mid-century starburst style clock producers aside Nelson(correct if needed).
LRF, you could leave the Nelson hands on. Gives it a distinctive character unlikey found elsewhere.

i have four new sets ...
i have four new sets of clock hands coming from Vitra so i might
use a set from one of those, as i want to use two sets for t he two meridan clocks I bought in the last 2 weeks both came with out hands, (you sorta wonder what happens to the old hands) but that clock with the nelson hands on it was the first clock i ever bought at a flee market and I still love it cause it was so different and was typical of the early part of the midcentury with the starburst and the atomic balls theme that we all loved.
The first clock is by westclock and it is all teak wood
2)Is a German clock that had a key that i could not get to work or either could the clock shop so we just put a quartz in it.
3)welby great design on that one
4)mastercrafters light brass
5)welby

Elgin Clock
I have a "Lux" clock. Back is dated "1963"

Also this Elgin clock with matching candle holders:

(I remember buying both of these clocks for under $15 bucks last year.)

Ugliest "Nelson" clock?
Some guy is selling this on eBay pushing it as a real Nelson clock. It's pretty ugly, isn't it?
