I just saw the new Wright auction online & there is a really cool Noguchi prismatic table! What's the story of it? It was never put in production prior to Vitra's model?

Produced by Alcoa Aluminum
The pre production prismatic table was done by ALCOA Aluminum (ALuminum COmpany of America. They produced a few sample models (probably in 1956) in lieu of the production run that was to take place in 1957, which, for whatever reasons was never done. There are only 2 other known examples, both owned by the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh PA.(Alcoa is headquartered in Pittsburgh)The other 2 tables were featured in the "Aluminum by Design" exhibit & companion book put out by the Carnegie.
