wasn't it. . .and the locomotive has some uneven work to it, too !

Yes, and the amazing thing was that it was just an old fashioned locomotive with a metal skin welded onto it. Beneath the body work is just a locomotive. Still, remarkable looking.

1st is Henry Dreyfus 1938 for, at the time, world famous 20th Century Limited. Both locos have strong similarities and time periods...industrial espionage? Man in the Brown suit is a great, but incomplete, biography if you're interested in him.
2nd is another dreyfuss design. Looks like an abstract shark for the railroad.

BTW....Whenever I see these streamline trains, I think of Jules Verne. Think he had any influence?
