porcelanosa tiles for kitchen?
HI, WE ARE STRUGGLING TO FIND 1800 SQUARE FT FOR OUR EICHLER!!
OOps, caps on)
would you share the price point for your porcelanosa tiles 12 x 24? we think a rectified 12 x 24 in a colorbody porcelain, our in a white color, as our eichler has low ceilings compared to most and oddly, doesn't get much sun except central atrium/ kitchen area.
how do you like the tiles? what kind are these? how easy are they to mop? are they polished/honed/or matt???
thanks so much
rebekah

white tile carrara - is it slippery?
Hi, love your floors as well, they appear as terrazo yet they are tile! we are trying to tile our eichler in white large rectified tile also, tiler says even a 12x24 will be difficult around the back sliding doors(3 sets of them) AS SLAB has sunk abit and the tile will "lip" over the orginal aluminum thresholds- how did you handle this problem? is it an eichler?
also are the polished american olean hennessay floors slippery all the time? when wet are they disastrous? we have a 3 year old kiddo....
we could place flor tiles or carpet over the main walkways to soften the slippery effect i suppose..
please share more info, from pics they look great- more pics close up? were you able to get a 1/16th grout line?

Hey Eichlerfan...
no, our home is not an Eichler, it is by an architect who worked here in the Midwest, primarily in the St. Louis area. The floors are a little slippery in socks, so we have our 16 month old in shoes most of the time. Me, on the other hand, I like to do the Tom Cruise slide so I usually go the socks route...it's the ONLY THING he and I have in common. Haven't noticed any spills being terribly icy, but usually mop things up right away. We did buy a floor steamer. We do have one larger sliding glass door (see pic), and we did not have any problems with overlap of the thresholds. For the thresholds into the laundry room, our contractor made some beautiful thresholds out of real marble. We were very fortunate that our slab was still in very good condition and had just minimal sloping. We used a contractor that was highly skilled and does a lot of commercial work. They ended up doing a 1/16"-ish grout line and got everything nice and straight, which is very noticeable give the room is a pretty good size. We put down a couple area rugs in two separate seating areas and we put down some SkipHop Playspot foam tiles in the playroom (which you can jussst see in the distance of my crappy iPhone pics).
Hope this helps!
