Not my sort of thing, no...
Not my sort of thing, no offence meant but I'd like to see something like that with a blacker base, a larger extended casting (is it hollow?) with some perforations on the underside facets and lit from within.
Or perhaps a pendant with perforations on the upperside facets? I know that is easier said than done.
I like it.
I suppose the form -- a traditional combination of base and shade -- is a bit like the bicycle: it satisfies the requirements in the most straightforward way, and thus hasn't changed for over a century. Modernists will want something more -- or less -- or at least different -- but I guess we'll always have this kind of lamp with us. . .
Nicely done, anyway: a handsome abstract sculpture as the base for a table lamp.
