I apologize for not getting photos included for over 50 first readers, so trying again with thanks. In 1966 my wife and I purchased quite a lot of Hans Wegner furniture at his atelier outside Copenhagen. Eight of these more important pieces will be auctioned by LAMA on May 18. However, I am keeping three nesting tables along with some other Wegner items for personal use. In the case of these nesting tables, the top one of which needs repairs, I see no markings by Wegner or anybody else though quality seems equally high. We did purchase some things elsewhere at the time, so who knows? I would really like to know the origin of these nesting tables. Any ideas? Thanks again.

I don't think these nesting tables are by Hans Wegner. The Andreas Tuck nesting tables (the only Wegner nesting tables I know of) have a distinctive taper to the stretcher, whereas these look perfectly straight.
These are lovely looking tables, though. And good luck with the auction, wish I could be there!
Firsties!
You are correct. 1stdibs does not back check any of the sellers authentication claims. You are free to attribute anything to anyone on that site. Items are commonly attributed incorrectly there. And sellers aren't always friendly when you ask them to back up their claims.

There are some 1stDibs sellers of Danish Modern items who do a very good job of correctly identifying their pieces. Others are laughably bad in a wide gamut from "aspirational attributions" to attributions that betray a deep lack of knowledge of the designers (e.g. I saw "I.B. Kofod Larsen" listed as the designer of a piece not so long ago, and it wasn't even an Ib Kofod Larsen).
And, yes, these are not Hvidt and Mølgaard.
