Is this an easy DIY?

I am looking at the Ball and Chronopak models specifically.

I know Vitra uses UTS HT quartz movements, but these are available with shafts in different lengths. Anyone know which one fits? Or does that depend on the model?

Also, will the original hands fit any movement?

Any other tips and tricks would be welcome.

Hi,
Personally I would restore the AC clock. I love the quiet AC models I own, they don't make a peep. I dislike the noise the battery movements make, and they don't have second hands.
If you pull the unit apart, you can find the motor number, and buy a new one. They are common motors. They run with the cycles of AC at 60. The motors turn at 1 rpm per minute, or something like that... they are super slow, but are accurate time machines.
good luck

I agree
my electric AC clocks have the quietest motors and keep the best time.

Thanks for your suggestions.
I don't want any more cords in my home though. And Sweden runs on 50 Hz, so that would not even be an option.
Anyone else?
