Among my Nelson clocks I have a couple of oddball pieces.
The first is a spike clock with the wrong back. Instead of having the usual "2202" engraving, it has "2260." Does anyone know which clock the 2260 backer belongs to?
The second is a spike clock without hands, but with what I think is an Alexander Girard sun printed on felt, and attached to the face of the brass cylinder. There's no clock mechanism, and the steel back has neither an engraved number nor the typical Howard Miller and UL labels.
Living within 5 miles of bother Herman and Howard Miller, it's not unusual to find one-offs, prototypes and outright Frankenstein pieces. So what do you think: one of Girard's numerous decorative objects, or creative outlet of a factory worker?
