i have a nelson saucer lamp above my kitchen table. the eames table i have is 41.5 inches in diameter. the two sizes of the lamp are 17.5 or 25 inches. the small one seems way too small but the medium one seems big. i went with the medium one in case i ever get a larger table. has anyone else ever had this same dilemma?

Sure
Perasonally I'm glad you went big. But it would have a lot to do with context, including room size, I suppose. Also, you can play with hanging height to affect the effect (hee hee).

Lamp
I agree with everyone, the bigger looks best. I've never liked the small saucer(unless in a cluster), I think the proportion would be really off using the small over a table. I'd enjoy seeing a photo if possible.
