I'm suppose to buy this dresser this weekend and am under the impression it's a thin edge dresser. The legs look off to me though and it is 39 inches tall. Does anyone know if these are maybe legs for another thin edge piece or just something similar? Looks like the two inner top knobs have been replaced with generic silver knobs. Also the two knobs on the outer top drawers look larger? Maybe someone combined different parts from several thin edge pieces? Any ideas whats going on with this thing?
I cant get anymore images. It's cheap but I dont want to spend 700 on new remanufactured legs from Hume.
Hey JuanEarl
Did you pick up the thin edge dresser?
Cuz if you didn't lead me to it.
You're right the legs are off and the couple of knobs are non HM replacements.
I can't tell but the legs may be HM or not. The walnut case however is dynamite, and to paraphrase PegBoard's words....it's better to regret what you acquired than to regret what you didn't.
Tell me please you bought it, and share pics.
I did get it. Legs are definitely not herman miller, but at the price I can't complain. Already have some NOS pulls on the way and might have sourced some vintage thin edge legs. The height is actually kind of nice as a sideboard but is a little unstable. Was very happy to see the foil label when I showed up.
Love the grain on yours Mario. Are the legs 7"? I'm not sure if all the thin edge pieces were 7" legs.
The legs are 7 inches high. I have the sofa and two armchairs. A couple of my legs need replacing. Unfortunately, Nelson did the legs in aluminum as that was the new thing. If he did them in steel, replacements would be almost non-existent. Hume is expensive, and, you have to order at least four, not just one or two.
