I just became the owner of a Vitra/Nelson Sunburst clock in white/natural wood w/silver hands. An amazing wedding gift! Anyway I've seen this color combo but with the black hands w/blue and orange tips, which I think looks much better than the silver (a little bland IMO). My question is can you order new hands, and if so, was this even an original combo way back in the HM days?
edit: SUNburst...no Starburst...my bad.
My limited experiences with Vitra aren't good, either
they are one of those companies that are "above" the lowly customer.
They want the customer to contact one of their dealers and they want to be left alone.
Same goes with Louis Paulsen, and to some extant, Knoll.
Herman Miller, on the other hand, are very consumer-friendly.
Suposedly
Patty Miller @ Vitra is helping me on this...ordering the hands from the multicolored sunburst clock for $30. Haven't been notified of an actual transaction though.
I'm already off to the next "want"; GN CSS Canister Light on eBay! It will prolly bid up to $900 or something anyhow but it's still something to think about. Actually I've been considering making my own here in the shop, the construction is actually quite simple and would save some $$$. Then I would be able to actually see my stereo...
