Hey Guys...Hoping you can help me.

I have a Large Nelson Cigar Pendant from Modernica..it's a few years old. I have no place to hang it now as I have moved, and decided I wanted to make a floor lamp from it. I called Modernica to order a tripod base for it, and they told me they nolonger manufacture the tripod base for the large, and only do the "Lotus" as the floor lamp. They recommended using a tripod base for the small lamp, but that just sounded weird to me. Anyone have a source, or know how to make one...or have a used one? Any advise would be helpful...

Thanks.

How bad do you want one?
Looks like you'd have to buy a small lamp on a tripod base and switch the base. Problem with that is it's going to be more work than you think. The bulb on a large cigar is on a long rod so it is more in the center of the lamp. The small bubble lamps have the bulb nearly flush with the 3-pronged plate that attaches to the shade. You would have to do much more than switch the plate to convert yours to a floor lamp. You'd have to essentially take them both totally apart and rebuild them. Not impossible certainly, but not a 5 minute job. Plus you'd be left with an extra bubble lamp.
I don't know of anyone who makes just the tripod bases. Don't imagine there is a huge demand for those.
I've always liked the look of a pendant bubble lamp hung low, next to a chair or in a corner like a swag lamp. A less expensive option for you certainly.
