Isn't that chair
called the EC127?
I have the exact same chair, but is covered in brown vinyl and a stitched-in brown hopsack seat. It has the same piping. Luckily, mine is in good condition with supple foam and no tears.

hey.
Got any old brown wooden shelving units you don't want?
The variety attached to the wall... ; )
I would give it a little time. Living in the home. Appreciate the layout.
Smart little home you may find out. It is maybe 50 years old and needs
a bit of tlc. After a bit of research, you may learn to love it and consider
a sensitive restoration. If it doesn't work out and not your type of home
in the end, at least you'll get better money if it's an educated restore.
No need to like the chairs. Not sure if i would keep them myself.
But i would for a while to see how they work. If you are
asking about what they are and they were about to go off to a thrift, that's
a hint that you might want to slow down and enjoy some research.
Your new home comes with a bit of history. Thanks to the internet it
should be a fun search.

I thought most of you on ...
I thought most of you on DA by now knew about the Eames Bucket chairs. They are one of the most important
chairs made by the Eames. The upholstered chairs are one of the most sought after cause people love to recover the chairs and use maharam fabric by Alexander Girard cause they fit so well with all furniture, and you can design your own. most people buy the Eiffel tower base and are beginning to use the wood dowel base. it also becomes a real classic.
Lunchbox.... I dont think some guy on ebay recovers them for 75.00 each if he does I would love to have his name and number cause I have over 100 to send him.
Joan.... Do what you like, it is your house.
You will fall in love with the chairs if you redo them. I know a few things about those chairs.

I'm glad
Joan, I'm glad you are trying to keep it original. I don't know what your situation is and I'm sorry if I sounded mean. I wasn't really but somepeople just don't like those houses. I was just suggesting. But seems you are willing to like it and I'm glad you are doing research. You are definitely in the right place (DA). There's plenty of knowledgeable people here to give you ideas on many things.
As other have suggested I would also slow down the process to make sure you make the right moves and most importantly make that house something you will love and live with for a long time.
Best of luck!

Small suggestion
Take lots of pictures of the remodel/resotoration 🙂 I think it would make a pretty compelling book/blog: The reluctant traditionalist inheiriting a modernist home. The spark is lit, and in 3 years time you're sporting a bee-hive hairdo and serving chilled gelatin molds after dinner.
But seriously, nothing is quite so inspiring as the magic of "before/during/after" shots.
And good luck!
