Hey all!

When I was a kid I spent a lot of time in the garage with my father fixing small engines and doing wood work. The tables we used were simple aluminum (maybe steel at the time) with wood legs. I have many good memories learning from my father in that garage and some are tied to that table. I had never seen any since until I saw this American Express ad with Tina Fey. Of course her's was minus all the dings, scratches, and hammer marks that decorated my old tables.

For a bit of nostalgia I would love to find tables like these again for myself and possibly another for my father. I would use mine as Ms. Fey does in the ad. Has anyone run across something like these? I have not had any luck searching many word combinations online.
Thanks.
JW

Table located
I believe this to be vintage (old) office and/or school furniture. I have one in my basement that appears to be made of inexpensive pine for the base with a good hard wood top. It has a single drawer. Come to Atlanta, Georgia and it is yours for a reasonable price.

I appreciate the offer. The suggestion that they were used at schools was helpful and searches brought up some that were similar, but I'm looking specifically for the metal top, most likely aluminum.
If they were mass produced it doesn't look like many of them lasted that long. I might have to start prowling the antique shops as the keywords I'm using online are not bringing up anything like what I am looking for.
If anyone else has any insight or has seen tables such as these I would appreciate a point in any direction.
Thanks.

Try Goodform or Gereral Fireproofing
The earlier versions used wood for the legs...

Those are old
lab tables that we used in middle school chem lab and bio lab in the 1970's. Check school surplus auctions.

Pretty common table
in NY and as Riki said, surplus auctions...
With many school closings these are somewhat easy to
find. TwoJakes in Brooklyn may have a few.
The photo was probably styled in NY.
Most likely rented but also for sale.
That one looks like maple with a alum edging and formica top?
Some have a stainless top or lab slate, a personal favorite.
Not expensive but very heavy to ship. The legs are not usually
that easy to remove. I have seen some in school libraries that have
bolted-on legs with wing-nuts. Oak with solid oak tops. Not as nice
as the maple.
