Hello everyone,
I need some help with a fiberglass eames rocker I just bought. I am not sure what color it is exactly. It is a mix of light blue and light green... it's almost a mInt color. The maker is Cincinnati Milacron as indicated on the bottom, but does anyone know around the year of manufacturing? I bought this as a gift for a friend who loves mid-century modern furniture so I don't know that much about this stuff. Is this a rare color (haven't seen it before)? Sorry I don't have a picture to share. Thanks so much !

Okay, thanks so much! I've seen pictures of the seafoam and the color in the chair I have is more vibrant and bright, but like I said I wouldn't classify it as green, blue, or turquoise. I am trying to link a pic...

Yes this is what the chair looks like. This isn't a personal pic of the chair I have but the only one I found online that looks like the one I have. This is the same color. Any ideas on color name? Rarity? year manufactured? Thanks !

You're right
It does not look like any of the standard or contract colors. Do you have any more pics? Any markings? I tried to find the eBay listing to no avail.

I do not have any personal...
I do not have any personal pictures of the chair yet. I ordered it from a reputable seller online. I do know that it has the Cincinnati Milacron mark on the bottom ( half moon with a star ) and the Herman Miller logo. Once I get the chair in the mail I can post more pics. I just can't seem to find out any information on this specific color like the name of the color or when it was manufactured.. I emailed Herman millers archive department asking for help, but who knows how soon they will get back to me?

Well I talked to someone in...
Well I talked to someone in the archive department at Herman Miller... They said that their color scanner was down, so they could not give me a color name. They told me to look it up in some book, but I'm not going to pay for a book if it only has little info about this chair. I know Herman Miller started off with 4 rocker colors and now has over 20, does anyone know of a website with all the colors listed on it? I can't believe for all the collectors out there there is not a website that has all the various colors listed. I've been looking everywhere and can't find out this color or year that the chair was made?

prototype
Dont recall the actual color name but this was one of the original colors which was considered for production. My understanding is that is was passed and the only few produced were kept privately. The only one I have seen in this color besides yours was on display at the MOMA with the diplay stating it was gifted by the Eames family.

That explains a lot... Thank you so much for that information! I will have to try and find out some more about it, but that is probably the most important/biggest thing I have/will find out about it. Thanks again so much !!!

SUCCESS!
Hello Everyone!
After a few months of digging I finally found out the exact color of this Eames fiberglass shell, it's... Turquoise !!! When I finally saw the early 60's fiberglass color chart I still was not convinced. After I put on a couple of coats of Penetrol on the chair it's color finally shined through and that's when I knew it. It matched right up with the 60's color chart. So thanks to everyone for the help !

Here are some pics WoodyWood
I have a few pictures here. The first one is shell before Penetrol, the second and third are with Penetrol. I took 2 after shots because the lighting in this room is bad, one pic is with flash, other is without.
