Hi, does anyone know who the designer of this lamp is and the possible value. The shaft and base look like the same design as the Knoll Saarinen Tulip table bases. The lamp is 5' 5" in height. The base is 11" in diameter and the top of the shade is 10" in diameter. The lamp is metal. Inside the shade is a sticker marked "Made in SWITZERLAND". Under the base is the raised numbers "25952". Thank you.
Max Bill
In good condition, as it seems to be, the value is just around U.S$2,000. Max Bill has not designed all that much. He was of course the first director of the Hochshule fur Gestaltung Ulm, and architect of the builings, but he also did some interesting sculpures. Although he is known as an educator, he was never considered a great architect or designer or sculptor. In my view he was all four but the difficult history of Ulm never served him well. Congartulations with a very nice product
yes
in good condition 2.000 is the going rate,I need globes to cover a multi light version I have thats missing all of them.I have two tulips(this version) in a bedroom... great soft light due to the light bounce. I think Kovacs imported them to the U.S.Koen, much of Bills art work(prints) are a bit dry to me... very Swiss, did you know him?

Please follow this up with some details I have never seen this lamp attr. to anyone other than Bill and the prices it brings in international auctions/shops is a little steep for a captive/in house designers work...Koen is also from this region and era 50s..
