I am thinking of selling this, my dad says it is rosewood. How can I tell if is teak or rosewood. Does anyone know who made this. All I know is the back is stamped Made in Denmark, and a sticker about Danish furniture Makers control is in a drawer.
I am obviously just finding out about this item that belonged first to my grandparents and has been in my house for the last 12 years.
Thank for any information.
I will be grateful if anyone knows anything.
Thanks again!
another pic
I do like it, but tired of it, My husband and I have had it for so long, we are in the process of gutting the room and redoing it.
Can anyone tell me about this, and how do I know if it is teak or rosewood?

I would
have said walnut, too, based on color and grain. Of course, wood can be stained (though this is rare in Danish modern, isn't it ?) and the cut -- rotary, plain-sliced, or rift -- will dramatically affect grain appearance. But most of these veneered panels are plain-sliced, as here, in work of this period and place, aren't they, Maryanne ?
Value's subjective
First of all, you only showed a small sample of the system in your photo-- the value depends on how many pieces there are, as well as condition, and general sex appeal.
Most importantly-- how will you sell it? It all depends on the venue. A shop in a fashionable district in New York could sell it for ten times the amount that an individual could sell it for on, say, Craig's List.
Ebay's probably your best bet. Search completed auctions for similar systems and you'll get your answer.
