Mmmm not entirely comfortable with that but I trust Japanese industry enough not to be too conservative about it.

It certainly seemed burly. I'm probably not describing it well. As a furniture builder myself I'd have no issues with spec'ing that leg mounting system on any of my pieces (so the legs can be removed for shipping).
