I recently bought this chair at a local thrift shop for under $10 because it seemed so well made. It is unmarked as far as labels and the only writing found is "PATENT APP." on the rubber straps. Any ideas who made this?

You got a great deal on this!!! I've seen this chair in SF's shops for $400 and up. It's got to be by one of Danish designers.

Thanks for the reply- I had posted it on a different forum and one person had opined that it might be Finn Juhl or Dux. Another said they agreed it might be Dux but also offered that it might be Selig.
Hopefully someone can help nail down the ID. It's really got me wondering! One thing is for sure: it is one wonderfully comfortable chair to sit in!!

I don't know the designer, but Selig produced chairs like this. The link below is for a book about Selig now being sold on eBay. (I'm not the seller, btw.)

Identified at last..
I did get a positive ID on this chair this week: Ib Kofod-Larsen designed chair imported by Selig Manufacturing of Leominster, Mass.
Still haven't nailed down the date, but I thought I'd share the information.
