I have had these for years now and this chair i found by side of road tossed out by owner. It's been in storage all these years. I was wondering if anyone can i'd this one. Chair has been painted black. Don't think its the original color. going to strip it bare and see what type wood it has and go from there.
Would love to find this same type fabric but i'll shop around first and see what i can find. Any suggestion would be great;) Thank you for looking.

I guess no one has come acroos this type of chair but it's all good. Just going ahead and tyr to restore this piece. Started to strip one of the arms off the chair and found this damage. Seems like it was cause for them to paint this chair black. I will try if i can fix it and hopefully bring it back to its original state. amstill in the process of stripping the other one and will see how and if that too has any damage to the arm.
The arm is a two tone type of wood with the top part darker than the side wood. Bottom is part is i think same type of wood.
will post more pics as i go along with this project. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated;)
Thanks

Yes, it might be a pearsall. it does not any marking that i can find. It does have very nice lines which i really like and it sits very low too.
After a messy clean up this is what it looks like now. All i have to do now is to find a good fabric so the hunt begins;).
Not Pearsall.
At least, not in my opinion. Those wood construction on the arms is kind of unusual and are more complicated than anything I've seen on Pearsall furniture (which are pretty much all solid walnut).
It looks like the top surface of the arm is one kind of wood inset into another? But are chair arms ever done with veneer? And that's not edge banding, is it? I am not a wood person at all so maybe one of the more knowledgeable people here will chime in.
I think you need to do more sanding on the sides of the frame. The color looks uneven.
Looks the arm rest broke off the post and someone stuck a screw or dowel in there to repair, then filled it and painted. I liked the black, actually--especially with that blue fabric! Oh well. I would think about ebonizing it if the wood can't be made to look great. Of course, I love ebonizing stuff so please consider the source.
Check out modern-fabrics.com for fabric. There are some good quality chenilles that are similar to that blue fabric. Just avoid cheezy chenilles! They look so low-brow and they don't hold up well over time.
Hi spanky, No, I dont think i...
Hi spanky, No, I dont think its Pearsall also. the wood arms I believe is an inset type and not veneer. I have sanded it so much if it was veneer it would have gone through it already. Yes, the color looks uneven, you are right. Will have to redo the sides again. Just found out i had this blue tweed fabric that was left from previous project. What do you think? I'll go check out that link you sent and see if I can find that would look good on this chair.
Oh, I found this very cool abstract litho at Salvation Army this friday. I think this would look good with the chair once i'm done with it.
You see that sort of...
You see that sort of construction on some Hvidt and Mølgaard lounge chairs. (I don't think this chair is scandinavian, to be clear). It is usually done with bending veneer which is a lot thicker than normal veneer. The bottom layers are a secondary wood and it is all bent and glued together.
